Happy New Year!

It’s a new year and full of new beginnings. What’s your new beginning? Are you ready to make 2009 a year to shine? I sure am. So many things have happened, and are happening that are going to make 2009 one of the best ever!

With the advances in technology, there are so many things that can make your life easier. I’m lucky enough to have friends and family that have been able to connect me and help make my life – personal and professional – easier.

What’s new in my life? I have lots of new electronic equipment that WILL help me accomplish what needs to get done, and what I want to get done.

I recently purchased a webcam and a Flip camera. These two items are going to help me tremendously in advancing my presence on the web and bring information to the forefront.

I hired a Virtual Assistant to help me get organized, keep me on track and help me get my blog (what you’re reading now) on a more consistent schedule. I’ve known that having a VA can help tremendously, and mine has the intestinal fortitude to keep me on track!

Learning to use my Bluetooth-enabled system in my car, setting up my new iPod Nano with the music I enjoy and that inspires me for exercising, and making sure my external back-up system is doing what it needs to do for safeguarding my documents and systems, is a little overwhelming yet quite exciting.  Stepping back and doing first things first, and learning that, “done is better than perfect”, is what’s giving me the energy to move forward with the streamlining my life!

My programmable thermostat assures me that energy costs will be reduced during the times that I’m not in my house, or when I’m sleeping, or that parts of my house aren’t being heated that I don’t use on a consistent basis.

What this all means, all the advances I’m making in my personal and professional life, is that I’m streamlining and cutting back. And you know what – that’s okay. This economic downturn that we’re experiencing, and will be experiencing for quite some time I’m afraid, is what has brought this on.

What are you doing to make 2009 a more streamlined and efficient year? What I’ve learned from the new technology that has come into my life is this: there are always things you can do to make your life easier. If you need some help getting streamlined, be sure to connect with someone that can help you, and if you need help making that connection, let me be a resource for you.
